How can we help?
Answers to the most common questions, and a direct line to our team if you need anything else.
Does BibleShield read or record my screen?
No. BibleShield never reads, records, or transmits your screen content or anything you type. Its permissions are used only to detect which app is open so the gate can appear at the right moment.
Why does BibleShield need Accessibility and Usage Access?
The Accessibility Service lets BibleShield instantly detect when a blocked app opens so the reading gate appears right away. Usage Access is used for your reading stats and streak history. Both are used only to detect which app is open — never to read what’s on your screen.
Does it work with my Bible app?
Yes. You can read inside BibleShield’s built-in reader, or choose your favorite installed Bible app as your “sanctuary.” If no Bible app is found, the built-in reader is always available.
What if I really need to open a blocked app right now?
BibleShield is a gentle guardrail, not a lockbox. You can pause blocking for a set period, or skip a single session. The goal is to give you a moment to pause — not to trap you.
How do I set my reading time and sessions?
Open Settings inside the app. You can choose how long each reading session lasts, how many sessions are required per day (minimum 2), and the hour each session becomes due (24-hour clock).
Which Bible translations are available?
BibleShield ships two public-domain translations bundled on your device: KJV (King James Version) and ASV (American Standard Version).
Does it work offline?
Yes. All scripture ships bundled on your device — BibleShield works fully offline, with no network connection required.
Does BibleShield drain my battery?
BibleShield is designed to be lightweight. It only reacts when a blocked app opens, so it has minimal impact on battery life.
How do I stop blocking apps?
Open Settings and choose “Stop Daily Blocking,” or remove apps from your blocked list. You can also revoke the Accessibility and Usage Access permissions in your Android settings to fully disable it.
